Aquis Microfiber Towels

Others have posted on this forum their recommendations for quick-drying microfiber towels by Aquis. After reading many very favorable reviews and comparing prices, I just ordered two extra-large Aquis towels from L.L. Bean, normally $59.90, but saved $20 using coupon code FOG4868 at checkout. (No idea how long this coupon will be good.) Free shipping also. The link to see these towels at L.L. Bean is http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/36971?feat=2-SR0.

I hope it's okay to post info like this when we find a good deal.

Thanks Liz for the heads up on this good buy. We love our micro-fiber towels and these looks particularly nice.

Although I do like the quick drying qualities of the microfiber towels, the one I have has a different feel from cotton. Do the versions from LL Bean "drag" as you wipe yourself dry? I don't know if drag is the right term, but mine feels like it wants to stick rather than glide over your skin as you dry. Picky I know, but cotton does feel better!

Yes, the reviews commonly recognize this difference between microfiber and cotton. I think I can tolerate that downside of microfiber for the benefit of being able to ring it out and have it dry quickly.

Re: Aquis Microfiber Towels

We've been using our new microfiber towels in the house for several days now, one color for him and another for her. Each came folded up in a remarkably tiny package (a little zippered mesh bag that measures 10" x 10" and about an inch thick with the towel inside). We'll use the mesh bags for some other purpose since we don't need to fold up the towels for backpacking. There is a hanging strap at one corner of the towel, which closes with a snap. We have no problem with the feel of the towels on our skin, and we like the way they dry us. After use, the towels don't even seem wet enough to wring out. It's a mystery where the water goes.

Prior to these towels "made" for humans, I had friends that bought pet towels. They're typically bigger than the human sets and cheaper. I don't have any, so I can't attest to the softness: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=4030490. Check them out at your local pet store...

Re: Aquis Microfiber Towels

We have several varieties of microfiber and love them all. The best deal, though, was when I found two "Doggie" microfiber towels on sierratradingpostonline.com! They are definitely larger (as Donna mentioned) and work great. Pete gets the red doggie towels, I use the others.
I also found the coolest little clothesline; can't remember where, but it is a Rick Steves travel line. It has velcro ends for fastening anywhere (I stretch it across our bed in our 19ft., looped around the cabinet handles, while we are traveling) and the main portion is stretchy braid. No clothes pins needed. You just stretch the braided portions and insert the corner of whatever you are drying. Hard to picture, but 'Google' Rick Steves clothesline and you will see some photos.
Microfiber is great; light weight and dries quickly. We don't like microfiber as wash cloths, however, just for towels for us and in the kitchen; microfiber is great for kitchen wash cloths.

Here is a link to a microfiber towel on Amazon for $26.99/free shipping: http://www.amazon.com/mn/search/?key...qid=1321166784
Here is another one (both are Aquis Towels, 29"X55") for $20.97. http://www.amazon.com/Aquis-Microfib...167117&sr=8-32 and one more Aquis on Amazon for $24.75. http://www.amazon.com/Aquis-Adventur.../dp/B000AMBF2A I believe all are free shipping with $25 purchase. Not sure if that works for shipping to Canada.

Happy Trails,
Linda

Linda Microfiber towels from Costco the yellow ones work very well when cleaning my Escape after washing.
