I have buckets of Eneloops, which power most anything we have battery wise. One of the best things about them is that they hold charge for a very long time compared to other rechargeables.

The great part, is if the fridge temp starts to rise, I grab a frozen water bottle out of the freezer, put it in the refrigerator and put the fan right next to it. Temp drops fast in the refrigerator. Repeat as necessary

We've found keeping extra freezer space fairly well full with blue ice or other frozen items really helps mitigate temperature changes in the fridge. And Donna's idea is one we'll have to try too.

They also seems to last much longer than any other brand of rechargeables that I have tried. A guy who spends a lot of time testing batteries and battery chargers and posting his tests on Amazon ("NLee the Engineer") says it is really important to have a very good smart charger too. For a least a while, he concluded that some of the Amazon Basics rechargeables were rebranded Eneloops. (see the top rated review here: Amazon Basics )

I found one of these wired fans worked better than the battery powered units.

I do use a smart charger. Important for any rechargeable batteries. Set the charge for the mA capacity of the battery, so a refresh, etc.
