Sometimes a burger and fries might get ketchup, but that's about it. So many other great success other that sweetened tomatoes out there.

Just as bad as ketchup.

You Americans eat bad stuff. I guess when you are proud enough of processed cheese to label it as American cheese, it all makes sense.

As a kid, my favourite sandwich was two slices of Wonder Bread with yellow mustard. No butter, because that would prevent the mustard from soaking in.
Tastes change.

Ron, as a child I liked catsup on a baloney sandwich as well as eggs and potatoes and steak.

Piling on the hashbrown love... We make a skillet breakfast sometimes that uses these dehydrated potatoes. Basically you brown a little breakfast sausage and drain. Then add butter and the re-hydrated potatoes and cook until they are crispy. Make small wells in the pan and crack in eggs. Cover pan and continue cooking for a few more minutes until the eggs are the desired firmness. If you like the eggs especially well cooked, turn up the heat a bit and pour a a couple of tablespoons of water into the pan prior to covering - the eggs will get steamed nicely. Sprinkle a little cheese and pour up the coffee. One pan.

Its called "Golden Grill Hashbrown Potatoes" and is sold by Costco. For around $6.00 you get 8 cartons of dehydrated shredded potatoes in what looks like a pint sized milk carton. Each carton provides enough hashbrowns for at least 2 people (carton claims enough for 7 people ... naaaaa I likes me hashbrowns). What I like is that first of all: they taste good, price is pretty inexpensive, no refer required - long term storage, and small durable packages that can be easily stored. Perfect for our trailers.

Bon Appetite!

Tom
We buy Golden Griddle Hash Browns for our fishing and hunting trips . We have a simple formula for figuring out how much to buy. 1 carton = 1 person = 1 meal or 4 guys = 4 cartons
Great fried in bacon fat with creole seasoning on top and even better with melted cheese ( NOT American Cheese )
It is important to keep your grease, cholesterol and salt levels up when camping in the wilderness
