Donna,
I like your tale choice. Do you know the model number? I could not find it on Lee Valley's website.

Thank you Jeff

The MEC table does look awesome! Fits all of the criteria we’re searching for in a good -sized, roll up lightweight table. I’d use this in conjunction with a pantry-type unit.
We’ll keep an eye out for it.
If anyone sees it back in stock somewhere, please let us know. Especially if it’s on sale!
Thanks!

No, unfortunately I do not . Glenn said it's a seasonal item on the Lee Valley site and sells out quickly. Seems like I bought mine in the fall of 2018. Maybe stock came in for hunters?

Is the TOP also metal, or just the legs?

It's all aluminum except the small black corner pieces on the table. Those are plastic.

Losangeles just ordered one to California. Hmm, do you suppose their website thought CA meant Canada?

Seems like they do.

Who is this "they"? Is it MEC ( Mountain Equipment Coop ) or Lee Valley Tools ( which has a US arm ). Which table are you referring to?

Cut it out!

Follow the links above.

It's the Mac.

Now the question is; is it the same as what is offered by Lee Valley Tools.

I don't know.

I've seen and looked at the links. What I was asking is what people were responding to when they used "they". See posts #48 and #49. I have the Lee Valley Tools table, which is not the same as the MEC table. Don't know which is better. The Lee Valley table is cheaper to buy, but not available at the moment. I've never seen the MEC table.

Lee Valley is available in the US. MEC probably isn't since they are hanging on by their nails here in Canada. I've been a member of MEC since 1970.

Donna,

Really like your table. Do you have a model number or link to find table. I am having problem finding it.

Thanks Jeff

I like it too. But like Glenn said, it seems to be seasonal at Lee Valley and they sell out quickly. Perhaps they'll get in another shipment for the hunters closer to Fall.

Ronn supplied this info for the table in an earlier post:
Item Description Quantity
XJ265 Folding Aluminum Table 1

I have the same table as Perry. But I will admit that I rarely use it.

Being totally honest and in line with the title of this thread, my favorite camping table is the picnic table that is typically provided by campgrounds in the campsites. I can place my grill on one end for cooking at the right height and still have most of the table top for eating meals. But the real reason the picnic table is my favorite table is because I don’t have to set it up upon arrival or take it down in preparation for departure. If it rains and the legs get muddy, I do not have to clean them or store the table wet. And if the table needs to be replaced due to age or damage, I am not shelling out the cash for a new table.

That's kind of how all this stuff goes, some are into keeping it simple, some not. If you read many camping forums, you see some take up to 45 minutes to make or break camp, some take as little as 5 minutes. What ever floats your boat.

The Picnic Table

Hi Carl
I’m in agreement with you on the utility of a park owned picnic tables.
I had oversight for over 1,000 tables when I was a parks superintendent. One negative was bad social behavior that occurs on and around picnic tables. We always use a table cloth and if practical I’ll sluice the table down with soapy water, give it a little scrub down and then rinse with a second bucket of clean water. They dry pretty quickly.

The finest benefit of a good table takes some practice, balance, and proper sized person. After 32 years of park employment and practice I perfected the ability to take a nap on the table seat. Laying on my side, my upper shoulder slightly against the table top and my arm under my head.
We would often eat lunch in 10 minutes and take a nap till it was work time again. There was occasional public pushback though I can’t understand why. If you see a vinyl coated dog tie-out cable around a table leg, it’s mine, I forgot it and I’ll be 400 miles away before I miss it and I ain’t going back.

We have the same and love it. It fits in the front box.

Have you considered tying it to your leg instead? Not sure if I'm pulling your leg, or saying you should let the dog pull it...
