To add confusion is the egg pick, a needle piercer that you create a small hole in the egg shell, then when you hard boil the water can enter the shell and cook the egg inside quicker. It also allows easier removal of the shell contents versus those eggs that the shell sticks to the contents

Yes, BUT you must pierce the corrrct end! That would be the fat end where there is an air bubble. Who knew there were so many rules?? It's main purpose is to prevent that egg cracking where the white oozes out by releasing the internal pressure.

My eggs have little "x" marks the spot on them to tell me where the bubble is......

Why buy a pick when you can use your muskrat skinning knife. That's why I've got so much money, I waste nothing. Poke a hole in each end the white fuzzes up and bleeds the air off but it does not run out for
Very long.
