Stabilizer for fifth wheel king pin

Since I never owned a fifth wheeler and will be getting the Escape 5.0 this July I was wondering if I'll need a King Pin Stabilizer for camping or for storage purposes? Is it a necessary item?

Also I ordered the propane outside quick connect and was wondering what adapter and hose I can get to use on my coleman stove and weber grill. Camping World has a 12 foot high pressure rubber propane hose but I'm not sure if that has the same hook up adapters used on the trailer connections.

Re: Stabilizer for fifth wheel king pin

We haven't noticed any instability when parked (other than pithy observations about each other, of course). I had one on may Amazon wish list and took it off.

You're gonna love your new trailer :-)

You won't be able to use the quick connect for your Coleman stove. The quick connect is regulated to a lower pressure than it requires. For my BBQ, I used the hose that I posted about here http://escapeforum.org/index.php?top...15622#msg15622

You're gonna love the 5.0!
Yes there is a small amount of movement, but the king pin mount won't help.
I don't know if one of these would fit on the 5.0, but it looks like it would stop all movement (which is minimal). http://www.steadyfast.com/
question #2 - I just carry a spare bottle of gas....or else you need to remove all the regulators off your equipment (BBQ/stoves, etc), and even then, some of them may run off of different amounts of regulation...so, easier just to carry an extra bottle of gas

BBQ

You can get 5 and 10 lb. propane bottles. I carry a 10 lb.
I'm not tethered to a long hose and I won't be tripping over the hose. I don't have to coil up and store a dirty hose.
I can put my BBQ wherever I choose, out of the wind, or bring it to the pot luck.

So, although I was once tempted, the more I thought about it, the less I wanted a quick connect for my BBQ.

One issue. I have had to lie when asked how many propane bottles I have when taking the BC Ferry. The limit is two 20 lb. bottles so I forget that I have the 10 lb. inside the trailer with the BBQ. With ferry fares rising as they have, it's not a long term issue.
