the double stick tape has given away and i was replacing, and the bottom bathroom window fell into my hands. i can see that it looks like it should engage with the top window, but i have been unable to get them to marry. Does anyone know if you have to apply pressure from inside the bathroom to get the window to slide into the other. thank you!

Yes you do and it’s considerable pressure.
It Works best if someone is on the inside and outside. Ours on the 2013 21 has been that way since we got it. Never fell out Or anything but is tough to get it to snap Closed.
