Blue envelope?

I recently posted a message in the classified ads and there is a blue envelope to the left of the message. Did I do something wrong?

That's a myth that won't die. You CAN receive PMs. What you can't do is create a valid post that has a hyperlink (these require a mod approval) or send/receive PMs that have hyperlinks... like an email address. Once you reach Senior status (more than 10 posts), the hyperlink restriction goes away.
