We are looking at 17' bigfoot trailer 2006. The owner tells us that due to a tire blow out there is damage. The FG is cracked. He says it is not a very big crack , but we have no experience with this. The rig is north of Toronto and we are in Montreal. We are serious about this rig but do not want to buy a nightmare We welcome your comments
Pictures would help however, best off if your serious find a good body shop, boat shop and get an estimate on repairs worst case is find an RV shop to give you an estimate though they might be higher then the first two. Unless either of you have experience working fiberglass or happen to know someone who does if so take them with you to look and give you an opinion. I have a fair bit of experience with fiberglass but with out seeing both sides. I can't help you out though there are many here who have repaired their fiberglass trailers might be able to. Have the owner take the pictures and send them to you if you have a shop you trust near you perhaps they can give you an opinion.
I have picture in my email that he sent, can not figure out how to attach them to this post.
Save it to your computer, then attach it via this button.

thx for the info jim. We have decided to veer away from this rig. why start with a problem.
You never know though, if the crack is minor, which it likely is, you could get a great deal on it, and only have a minor repair on your hands.
But...........

You've landed on a popular forum for Escape trailer owners. They let me hang here because I'm a drooling-wannabe.
I'd suggest joining FiberglassRV. It's a huge membership forum of owners of all brands of all molded towables. I'd think most of the folks here at Escape Forum also are members there.
What I'm trying to say, is by being a member of FiberglassRV and posting your question there, you're liable to meet like-minded people who MAY be your neighbors. If anyone could give you quality info about Bigfoot trailers and problems... it would be there.
