The forum system allows .doc files to be attached to posts or uploaded to the files section, but it does not allow .docx files. Is this simply a hold-over from bygone days, or is there a reason to exclude .docx files? With .docx being the current Microsoft standard, they should probably be allowed if there isn't a good reason not to.
Proprietary files, such as docx, can only be read by people with the proprietary software used to produce them. I'd like to suggest that everybody try to avoid uploading formats that only some can read. PDF files might be a better way to archive documents here on the forum.
