email notification

I have tried to stop getting an email every time someone posts to a thread I'm active in. I have looked at my setting options and have subscription mode set to NO EMAIL. But that hasn't worked. Can someone guide me so that I don't get these emails? Thanks.

Hmmm. I THINK I have solved it...I was subscribed to a bunch of threads. I don't need to do that, do I, to still be able to see in the list what new contributions have been posted?

No, you don't. The highlighting of messages with unread posts is not related to subscriptions.

When you comment on a thread you are automatically subscribed to it and will receive notifications with any new comment. To unsubscribe just go to the top of the thread and click thread tools and then unsubscribe

You can change that setting, in the User Control Panel, under Settings & Options, click Edit Options, and choose your preference from the list given in Default Thread Subscription Mode. I assume that Barbara has already done that - the "NO EMAIL" mentioned in the first post; one of the other preferences is to not subscribe on posting at all.

It appears to be working...no emails today.
