Getting logged out

If I've not viewed a thread for a while I will be logged out of the Escape Forum. Sometimes I'll open a new window to view other forums or do a little research and when I come back I'm required to log in again. Is this a default of the site for, let's say, security purposes?

Thanks,

I've not logged in for a long time, because I've not logged off.
As I recall, when you log in and enter your password, there is a box you can check that says "remember me".
Check that box and forget about it.

Could be the settings on your device. If you clear history or cookies you may have to log in again.

You do indeed have to log in again whenever the cookies are cleared.

But, I, too, have the problem of opening a new tab while leaving the current "logged-in" tab open (for escape trailer owners forum), then when I return to this forum tab, I am logged out. There must be a "lack of activity" timer function, that logs you out automatically.

It's just a minor nuisance, so I haven't researched it.
Oh, and it does log you out if you type too long a message without saving or posting.

I typically have a few dozen tabs open at a time, and have never had to log back in, whether coming to an open tab, or opening anew. Other than when cookies have been cleared, of course.

Methinks the problem has been solved; my original bookmark seems to be have been the culprit. So I closed and re-opened my browser, typed in Escape Forum then re-saved the address in my favorites. All seems to be good to go now.

Call me a paranoid OleMan but I always log on to my browser in a “new Incognito window” so there is no history or cookies for me. Now I'll wait for Robert to set me straight.

Nope, you got it straight on your own.

Incognito will help protect your privacy, but it will also mean you have log back in.
