More time...

I have been "logged out" several times while composing lengthier messages. When I hit send, it shows that I have been logged out and I lose what I have composed. Maybe that's a hint to be brief! But, for an administrator maybe, is there something I can do to keep that from occurring?

Happens here too, but as soon as re-entry of ID and password the post continues .

I have not logged in for months now, the website recognizes my url and automatically signs me on. I can leave my computer for hours and it goes to sleep, I awaken it and here I am. In fact it does this on 3 other forums I'm a member of. No idea what the issue is, but if more people complain I'll follow up, otherwise it maybe an isolated issue at your end. Check you settings for sleep, power off, sign off on your computer.

I am like Jim, having never had to log in for months, and when a tab for the site is open, it stays open for me, sometimes if I don't close it, for days on end.

Sorry to hear you were logged out. The server severs connection after an extended period of inactivity as a security precaution. If you are using chrome or fire fox, you can click the back arrow to recover your message. Clicking the remember me button automatically logs you in but may not keep you logged in after a period of inactivity.

Since I switched from Internet Explore to Chrome, a lot of the problems I was experiencing have disappeared...-

Thanks to all for your inputs. I am using MAC Safari; have checked the "remember me" box (which doesn't keep me logged in, but does allow me to log in without ID and password); my "inactivity" has been only momentary while composing thoughts; hitting the back arrow returns me to the thread page - but without my draft. Gremlins - or a message to think faster as I get older?

This is just a suggestion...If you feel any post you are about to make may be lengthy and you don't want to get logged out in the middle, open up Word, or other word processing program, and type in what you want to say. Then copy and paste it into the forum. I've had to do that on some forums too.

I use Safari and find that I always have to log on whenever I come into the site, yet with FGRV I am always logged on.

Adrian

p.s. Just made the move to MB and settling in, I am way behind on what's been happening on the board. Hope to take a break from unpacking and go to St. Malo on Sat pm for the manitoba Fibreglass trailer tour.

Thumbs down Post vaporized

I had some advice for Escape 19 buyers in Fairbanks AK....... regarding DMV plates and registration but this website apparently logged me out and my post vaporized.

Instead of using Word, which likes to format your text with fonts, etc. I'd suggest using Notepad. That way you won't get any wacko characters in your post.
