Owners' Map Instructions

It would be handy to have instructions on the Owners' Map page so people could easily add themselves to it.

I believe you need to create a google account and then you can have access or ask a moderator to post for you or anyone else familiar.

Done.

Please check out what I added, and let me know if it is fine, or needs tweaking.

Just click on "View Escape Trailers in a larger map" link on the map page and Jim's instructions are shown. Thanks Jim...

That works great! It may be of even more help if the instructions -- "click on "View Escape Trailers in a larger map" link on the map page and Jim's instructions are shown are in text on the main page, so future viewers can add themselves.

Hi Jim,This may be a stupid question....but where is the 'edit" button?
I saw and read your instructions, they are clear. I have a gmail account, so logged in, but couldn't find the edit button, not even in the layers...am I missing something?
Thanks
Melinda/ Chapitre

Not sure what happened to the map. Since I created it, I was able to get in, make a small change, and re-save it, then the Edit button showed up again. Try it now and see what you get. If you don't see it, make sure you are signed in with your Google account (there will be a Sign In button in the upper right corner of the screen if you are not signed in, otherwise you'll see your Google account name).

I just tried it, works. Do you want me to post something for you until we can figure it out? Possibly a computer issue, cookies or cache issue, do not know. I'm using a mac.

Might be the browser you are using as well. I sometimes have trouble with the map using IE, but Chrome works great with the map (imagine that, huh!).

I had a difficult time finding the larger version of the map but after that everything went great.

I think a comment like "click the Google at the bottom left to add yourself to the map" would be helpful.

I have managed to get it to work with Windows 7/Firefox at work and MacOSX/Chrome at home.

I just have to try Linux and I'll have the major options covered.

If you click the 'Google' icon on the bottom left it just takes you to the map of the area, not the Escape Owners map. You just need to do like Jim mentioned, and click on 'View Escape Trailers in a larger map' at the bottom, just below the map.

See it now. For some reason was not showing up before.
