Power Question

Ive been camping out in the woods on the coast of maine now for 3 weeks with no connectable services. Have been charging on solar and occasionally with Generac 2200 generator. Had been working well but today the generator would run with a green light, but moment connected to camper went red and no charging. Obviously generator works so must be with my 2017 5.0TA. Checked the circuit breakers, they were all okay......any thoughts?.......thanks Michael

One possibility is there is too large a load on the generator. Possible reasons - electric hot water, low enough battery to get the converter to go into the bulk mode (although unlikely with WFCO converters) or a combination of loads that exceed the capacity of the General 2200.

If you have the electric option for the water heater, shut off its breaker. Same temporarily with the converter breaker. Look for other 120V loads by shutting off all the breakers except the main, then turning them on one at a time.

Is it the Generac GP2200I? If so, what light is going red? The manual indicates that light #2 will go orange if overloaded. Light #1 will be red for low oil but it would also shut the engine down.
