Searching a User Name produces only their last 500 posts

Many posters on here have thousands of posts and if I would like to look at their history but I only can retrieve their last 500 posts. For some posters that 500 can take many years and for some users that produces only a couple of years history.

Here is what I get

Is their a setting that I am missing to produce more results?

Hi Ronn,

Just click on their name, and select "View Public Profile". On the next page that pops up, click on the "Statistics" tab. From there you can see all post or all threads started by that person. Here is a screen shot of yours.

Edit: On testing, this method only retrieves 500 posts as well. Looks like a limit of the software. Perhaps one of the Site Team members can enlighten us.

The 500-item limit is common in vBulletin forums; it could be a software setting, or just a popular or default configuration setting.

I normally do searches with Google, but the forum tools are better for restricting to a specific user. That means you need to search for specific enough terms to find the desired posts within 500 matches.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I have had a couple instances where I wanted to go back farther than the 500 limit. For some of the heavy posters those 500 posts go by very quickly.
