Facebook is definitely not for everyone, I bet only about 75% of my closest friends and family are there. Other than some special interest pages I subscribe to, for the most part it is just a meeting place for friends to share. I have never really met anyone there I befriended, inklings the many I have met in forums.
What I was trying to portray with the comment you quoted is that Facebook is here to stay, and an Escape presence there is nothing that will take away from the value of this site, and if anything will only enhance it with more exposure. This is why I say there is no good in complaining about the new page there.
These long posts on my phone are a pain in the butt to edit.
