Talking 5 0 TA In our future

Hello escapees
Just wanted to introduce ourselves. We are Cliff and Judy, a retired couple with DOG from Connecticut.
Our story began in February while camping at Salt Springs Florida in our '04 class B Pleasureway. While walking around the campground we happened upon "Escape Hatch II", and to our delight, Alf invited us in. It was a life changing event. We walked away weighing the merits of a towed vehicle vs. a B class. On Alf's recommendation we checked out ETI's site and the escape forum. It was love at first "site"
Back in Connecticut , ETI hooked us up with "Padlin". Bob was gracious enough to show his 5 0 TA. We spent hours going over, under, and thru it. Thank you Bob. We were sold!!!
We put in our order a 2017, with a delivery date of April We've gained valuable insight to the pros and cons of the different options from this forum and from communicating with "Padlin" on his experiences.
We are now actively working on our builds sheet and appreciate all the knowledge we have gained from the forums members. Thank you all. We hope to be able to contribute to the forum in the future and perhaps meet up down the road.
Happy trails to you all! Cliff and Judy.

Congrats on placing that order, Cliff. Glad to hear you ran in to Alf, and then meet up with Bob back home, both good ambassadors for Escape trailers.

Congratulations Cliff! An April pick-up is a good time. We didn't have your drive, but we did pick-up in April '16 and spent 1 month coming home. First the Olympic Peninsula, then the Washington and Oregon coasts, before finally back to CA. We had perfect weather with a little rain.
Enjoy the build sheet; you probably already have a real good idea, and stay warm this winter!

Great to hear Cliff & Judy
With all the folks around here getting Escapes I've got to run into one at a campground or on the road before long.

Hi: Chotch... CONGRADUATIONS!!! We hope you'll love your 5.0TA as much as we do ours. It's always a pleasure to meet folks like you two and offer tours of "Escape Hatch II". Here's a pic or two from Salt Springs Campground in Ocala National Forest!!! Alf

Our Florida trip was our first extended one, 5 weeks. It was a real learning experience , met a bunch of people, saw campers of every type, stayed at several campgrounds, had a few mechanical issues and even helped a couple of people fix theirs. The 50 TA although no where near the largest camper we looked at, made the biggest impression.
Thanks again Alf for the introduction to the 50 Escape and Bob for the in depth look. I think a happy owner is the best salesman.

Hi: Chotch... Happy owners tell others!!! Unhappy owners tell "Everybody"!!!
Once you have your 5.0TA... be prepared to do a lot of "Show and tells".

I showed our 21 twice this week, in Junction, TX. Compared to our 17' Casita, the 21 is "huge." Compared to most of the rest of the campground at South Llano River State Park, our 21 is tiny.

One couple (campground hosts) have been on the road in a big 5th wheel for 10 years; they're ready now to go back to sticks and bricks and are looking for a smaller rig for shorter (2-3week) trips.

The other was a single woman who wanted a bed and a table... And who had read about Escapes and just wanted to see the inside of one. One of her friends wanted to know "why Escape instead of Casita." My answer: Casita doesn't make a 21 foot trailer... And Casita won't work with you on upholstery, Formica, and so many other little things.

Anyway, congrats on your order and your build date. I've been offline for a week so may have missed the announcement that the plant expansion has drastically cut ETI's turnaround already! And the point of my ramblings is that, yes, expect to show your Escape when you're out in it. It's a nice product and people are eager to see!
