About to order!

Hello all,

My wife and I are getting ready to place an order for an Escape 21 and I’m hoping to learn a bit more about preferred options from the forum.

There is so much to love about the Escape! I’d love to hear your favourite things about your trailer spec as well as things you might have done differently if you had the chance for a do-over.

One of the recent threads that I found interesting was the “three favorite options” thread. Reading through it you’ll find repeated references to some options. That might help you on you essentials list and allow concentration on personalization. Good Luck, I know you’ll have a lot of great experiences and meet some real nice people.

ETI's new internet site list the 10 most popular options. That list makes a nice review.

I found the list interesting and as I went over it I mentally endorsed or rejected items we have and use or things we don’t have and aren’t interested in. The “rejection” dollar total was significant and it was easy to see where those dollars could be more advantageously used for options useful to the way we camp. It’s all theoretical for me as I don’t expect we will ever replace our 2013. Unless we get an ARK.

I doubt we'll replace ours either. You would need an ark in site 114 this weekend, good thing the rally was last or we'd be at the IA county park.

Hey Adrian,
You could do a lot worse than one of the fine parks in the Iowa county parks systems. I stayed in three this past season and all were very good. Someday I’ll tell you the story of the Custers last stand Anheiser Busch painting at the historic village in Scott County.

We have a 19 on order

Really all I want is somewhere comfortable to sleep. AC, furnace, and a comfortable mattress. I liked my 1977 Trillium the most. It was simple.

Our build sheet will include,
AC
2way hot water heater
Outside shower (often we wash dishes outside with it)
Led awning light strip
Opening window in the kitchen and bath
Door on dinette seat
Propane disconnect
4 captains lights

Items I will add after we get home.
I will replace 2 captains lights with Maradyne 12v fans
Install a 1500 watt pure sine wave inverter
Use my current 4-40 watt portable solar panels
Eventually upgrade to an AGM battery.
Smart plug 30 amp and Tv Coax plugs

I prefer to keep the trailer light, easier to tow, and simpler. When I get away, I don’t need to fiddle with things.

You may be needing one, the way rain water has been accumulating in the eastern half of Nebraska and Iowa, this year.
If the ARK has a GPS nav., you could set it to follow I-29 without running aground (according to my friends in NE NE.)

I lived in Council Bluffs for 8 years. We never had a significant high water during that time. The epic flood of 1953 was the prominent memory at that time. Since I left in 1978, the Big Mo has been flexing her muscles on a regular basis. We had levee access roads in a couple areas. We’d get a fast food lunch and go for a levee inspection drive. Good times, your tax dollar at work.

We ordered our 5.0TA a couple of weeks ago. We went to the Escapes showroom in Chilliwack looked at the trailers and decided on the 5th wheel. Just our preference, they are all great. We sat down with a representative and did our build sheet with the options we wanted. When we asked questions they were answered quickly and had the chance to pick our interior colours, flooring, cabinets oak or maple etc. We added about $10,000 in options. To many to list here. As you are not to far from Chilliwack it’s worth heading over for a day and checking out trailers and options. Call ahead and they will make an appointment with rep. To go through everything with you. You are located not far from us as we are in Campbell River.
