After a long wait..

We placed our deposit in April of 2021 and just heard that our 5.0 has entered production. If the stars align we are hoping to pick it up in Sumas in mid August. Our original completion date was June 16 of 2023. After accepting every early completion date Escape would offer we were able to knock off almost a year. We can't wait to hit the road with our new escape.

P.S. I am getting a B&W Turnover ball hitch installed on my Silverado 1500 next week and planning to use it with an Anderson Ultimate hitch. Anything I need to double check before hitting the road to Sumas (driving from Virginia)?

Avoid the Chicago area entirely. Traffic issues can extend beyond the city limits. Otherwise take a detour to Badlands NP and Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota and enjoy your trip.

Concur 100% with the advice to visit Badlands NP and Mt Rushmore on your trip (adding Custer State Park nearby as well), if you haven’t been there yet. Boondocking on “The Wall” just outside Badlands NP (aka Buffalo Gap National Grasslands) was one of the highlights of our trip. We’ll do that again for sure.

We did Grand Teton NP too, and had reservations to camp in Yellowstone NP before historic flooding closed the Park one day before our arrival (bummer!). We’ll get back to Yellowstone in the next year or two, but the extended visit to Grand Teton was amazing.

Depending upon how much time you have for your trip, North Cascades NP and Glacier NP are worthwhile camping destinations as well. We wanted to at least drive through the Cascades, but weather forecasts calling for potential snow/ice caused us to miss that too.

Wherever you go, have fun with your new Escape and happy camping!
