Lots of trailers in WA and OR if you want to view any. Rally in Bandon next July if you want to view lots of trailers in one place (and more than just Escape brand).

And many probably come through the area on trips (mine knows the way to Coos Bay already).

Hi Fred,

I really like the Escape 19 floor plan. And the size is s just perfect for me.

NW Cat Owner:

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll be trying to see an Escape in those areas.

( Oooops, I meant to type FG Travel Trailer in my first post above ).

Welcome Charley! I like your signature: "Don't Fence Me In".
About the 19: it simply is the best floor plan! The options you can choose according to your camping style. You are going to end up with a trailer to YOUR liking.
Best wishes with the decision making!

HA! The 5.0TA has the best floor plan, because we get it ALL and we're a smaller footprint lengthwise (tug and tow) than the 19'. Let the fun begin!

Charley, if you don't want to wait for the Oregon Gathering at Bandon in July, you're invited to join in the fun at the Spring NOG in April. Maybe worth the trip north earlier rather than later. Good luck on your egg hunt!

Donna, do you happen to know the combined length of your tow and trailer? I've been curious about this. The combined length of my Escape 21 and Tacoma is 39 feet, one inch, according to Washington State Ferries.

I had it written down one time... wonder what I did with that? I'm going over to Ten Forward today to winterize. I'll write it down, so I can remember to measure. BUT, I do remember it was just a few inches longer than towing my 16' Scamp towing with the same truck.

Yup, Donna is totally correct - the 5.0 TA is the best floor plan, AND you don't even have to bend over to hitch it up.
I'm happy with my 5.0 TA, so happy!

Ya know Donna, I did consider the 5.0TA fiver. But my current tow rig (Ford F-150 V-8) has a bed camper shell that I plan to reserve for needed storage.

And, thanks for suggesting the NOG in the spring. I’ll do that for sure!

Charley, the 21'! If you are older and messed up as are some of us! No stairs to fall down when getting up at night and no bed climb-over! More counter and bath space, too. If you need a queen or big bed though, it is the 19' or 5.0TA. 21' bed is not as big. That is the trade off.

Thanks for the suggestion of the Escape 21 Cathy.
But in looking at the floor plan, I just don’t care for the entry door to be so close to the bed. And...I’m about 6’ tall, so the larger bed in the 19 really appeals to me.

I'm also about 6' and the bed in the 21' is just fine.

and... when you are in the bed there is a long wall there (bathroom) and it does not feel like one is close to the door, at all. Can't see it.

and

most campsites have the road near the hitch, and the view out the rear....

so we much, much prefer to be looking at the view out the dinette in a 21'

just things to consider.

Never thought of that .... but that is a neat feature of the 5.oTA

i bet it is also more stable with the pin (is it called a pin?) rather than a hitch.

5.0 TA and truck = 36 Ft. total length.

2010 F 150 SCREW Cab with 5.5' bed and a 2017 5.0 TA using the Anderson Ultimate Rail Mounted Hitch with the pin adaptor reversed so it fits on the ball approx. 4 inches behind the king pin. Total length of truck and trailer is 36 Ft, give or take an inch.

Yes, others do not like that. We have no problem with it with the Classic because there is a curtain. No curtain in the new ones, I hear. I find being in the 21' bed though very nice because of no windows to sit back against. Very cozy there and away from the door when sitting against the wall.

And some do need the larger bed!

Okay, got the measurement. From the spare tire on the back of the trailer (the point farthest back) to front of the truck front license plate (the farthest front), I measure 36' 1"

I don't know what ours is but I know that we fit into two parking spaces with the 4Runner.
