Bigfoot owners moving to an Escape 19

Hi everyone! Well, I've been lurking here for awhile, but since DH and I finally decided to go for a new Escape 19 (ordered today - completion date of Jan. 23rd!) I thought I should introduce myself. I'm Kathy and my husband is Bruce. We are long time RVers - first with a Toyota Dolphin mini-motorhome, then a 24' Coachmen class C, then a Fleetwood 32' Class A, and currently with our 17' Bigfoot which we bought about 5 years ago. We are totally sold on molded fiberglass trailers and love our Bigfoot (I will really miss its HUGE windows).

Although we enjoy our Bigfoot and think it's adorable, there are several things about it that prompted us to start looking around for something else. First of all, the refrigerator is at floor level and I'm getting tired of getting down on my hands and knees to get things in and out of it. Secondly, the beds are too narrow for the two of us to sleep together. Thirdly, it's almost 30 years old and the maintenance is getting tiresome. Finally, the exchange rate is so favorable right now that it made the Escapes a great deal. We're looking forward to our new trailer and many more great travel adventures.

You forgot reason number 5! You're only about 40 miles away!

Congrats on your purchase. You'll love the 19.

Wow...another Bellinghamster! I think that makes about seven+ in Whatcom County. Welcome!

Rbryan4 -yep, it was nice to be able to bop up to Chilliwack to take an actual look at all the models before we actually made a decision.

Karen - Thanks for the welcome. That's enough owners to have a mini rally.

We almost qualify as a Bellinghamster, we're on Whidbey Island.

Welcome Kathy, and congrats on your order.

I had been considering a used Bigfoot like yours for a while. Lots of good features, but the layout sucks. That relatively big bath is such a small trailer uses a lot of space, and the fact that two could not sleep on the same bed, ruled it out for the most part. I had considered a major remodel of one, until my wife cuffed me upside the head, and said I had too much other stuff to do, so went looking and when Reace announced his plans for the 19, jumped aboard. Very glad we did.
