clam escape screen tent

Have purchased a new Clam screen tent and after setting it up, staking down all inside hold down rings, securing all outside tabs, and securing all the tab rings for the roof, when the wind blows it collapses the roof part as if you were taking it down. I go inside and push up on the center block and the roof pops back up where it should be, then after another gust of wind the roof pops back down. any ideas? I sincerely appreciate your help....

Have you called the manufacturer? We used it steadily for a month last summer and it never happened to us.

I would think that you got a lemon. We used our clam for a few months in Arizona, than agin in New Hampshire this May and had no problems. Pretty heavy winds in AZ and good rain in NH, came thru like a trooper. Do you have the poles on either side of the door in place? Maybe see about returning it for another.

We've had our Clam for two years and experienced this once. I realized that you can stake it down too tight sometimes. I learned to set it up, spread the legs until the sides are out kinda snug, but not stretched (a little play is good). Then, I usually only stake down the four rings toward the front and one side of the door. I secure the outside "loops" just enough to give it some shape with the add-on flaps.
