Trailer: Getting a 21NE early next year

Frank_a here

We are Parkliner owners looking to upgrade in the next couple years, and like the Escapes we've seen. So here we are!

My wife and I met through a love of climbing and backpacking 45 years ago. We brought our kids up camping in tents, and now they all camp. My two youngest sons even work part time for Eastern Mountain Sports!

We were both born in NYS, have lived in NH, WA, OH, WY, WI and VT. We've been back in NYS now for 15 years, living out in the boonies in the foothills of the northern Catskills, just south of Albany NY, and near the Hudson River.

Over the years, we have both developed bad backs, and stopped camping. We bought a Sunline Sunspot (essentially a 5 X 10 bed on wheels) a few years ago, but wanted something larger, so bought a Sunline 1550. That's when we found out stickies were not made to last. The 2012 Parkliner we bought was about the same size as the 1550, but with a queen size bed, and all the standard trailer amenities. Now my wife wants something bigger. We have hosted egg rallies the last two years at my brother's place on the Hudson River north of Albany, and have been very impressed with the Escapes that have come to the rallies. When the time comes, the decision will be between the 21 and the 5.0. As long as we can bring our bikes and kayaks with us, we'll do fine.

That's about it. Gotta get back to work!

Welcome to this corner of the moulded fibreglass online community, Frank.

Your background story is quite similar for many of us here, so lots of folks can relate to it.

Both the 21 and the 5.0 are excellent trailers, and share many of the same features. The two biggest differences, are the layout of the bed and bath, and of course how they get towed.

Take lots of time and go through some of the past posts, and you will get lots of great information there, as well as lots, and lots of great input from the membership as well.

Have fun making your decision, and don't forget the wait time to take possession is well over a year from the time ordering right now.
