Future Escape Owner

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking here for a while, and asked a question or two before, but now I figure I should introduce myself.

I'm Kevin from Edmonton, AB. My husband and I have decided we are tired of tenting (and the strange sounds that freak you out at night) and would love to upgrade to a hard sided trailer. I spent at lot of time looking over tons of trailer brochures, visiting rv shows and searching rv dealership websites trying to find a model that would work for us.

I have fond memories about a fifth wheel that my parents owned. It was a mid 80's Corsair Supreme fifth wheel. I loved that the master bed was above the tongue and out of the way. I've always wanted to find a fifth wheel but didn't want to have to buy a massive truck to tow it. Most of the fifth wheel models I find at local dealers are massive units that you'd probably want to retire in. Not for me. So I decided I'd have to settle for a travel trailer.

My parents suggested buying an all-fibreglass rv and suggested a Bigfoot trailer, so I started searching for dealers that stocked new ones. There is a local authorized dealer but they never stock new Bigfoots... I found some abroad but was shocked with how expensive they were... can't afford that! Searching through fibreglass forums provided a mention of Escape Trailer Industries.

After browsing their website and finding wonderful forums such as this, I found a trailer I can see myself and my husband camping in.

As luck would have it, my husband's father was getting married first week of September on Vancouver Island. This was a perfect opportunity to drive to the island and visit ETI on the way back. I made an appointment for September 4th. We stopped in and met Crystal for a look at all the models. My first choice is the 5.0 TA and my husband and I instantly fell in love with the model. After a look through the trailers we got a factory tour during their lunch break. It was really neat seeing the trailers go from mold to finished. It was quite a memorable experience.

We won't be purchasing for a couple years but we both know we've found exactly what we want and we can customize it the way we want.

Great story. Once you see how they're built, Escapes sell themselves.

Great choice. Hopefully you don't have to wait as long as Donna did to get yours.

Cool beans Alf! I too experience the "line up" at the Oregon Gathering. Fun times meeting a bunch of folks who wanted to see the new model. Fortunately for me Reace and Tammy were also there with a 5.0TA, so it took some of the heat off me and I was able to leave my site. Bet you made some great memories!

Jeepers, saw you doing this in Osoyoos too. Must be a rally ritual for you.

(not that I am not innocent of the same.
