Hello all Escapees!
I am just finalizing our build sheet on a new Escape 5.0. I would like to thank the contributors to this forum as the information here has greatly helped in making decisions on the build. The 5.0 should be finished in late February and we plan to pick it up in May.
We have been camping in our truck camper, 2012 Ford F-350 with a 2012 Outfitters Manufacturer Apex 9.5 camper. We have this on the market now. It has been a great unit however we want to go on some longer tours, still want to boondock and the 5.0 will give us some extra room.
We were surprised that we could find very few fifth wheels under the 24ft range, which can be the limit for many campgrounds. After some research, we visited the factory in Chilliwack to confirm that Escape was the way we want to go.
Joldie at Escape has been helping us and has given us some good ideas on our build. We should be signing our build sheet in the next day or so and now just wait for Spring. And start planning some of the cool modifications from the forum.
Thanks again for supporting this forum and we are looking forward to Escaping!
Gary

Welcome, Gary252, from another northern californian! I'm in Redwood City a bunch as my daughter and family live there.
If you are picking up in May, are you planning to attend the Rally at Osyoos?

Welcome fellow new member
Congrats Gary:
We just put our money down for a new 5.0TA too. We are going to pick it up in May and hopefully head up to the rally for some wine tasting.
Maybe we can see you there and compare builds. The only things I did not add was a stereo and the LED light. I have a mini PA system I am going to use. It should be very nice.
I think this is a very great decision!
