Hello from Calgary, Alberta

My wife and I just signed off on our Build Sheet for a 5.0, current completion date is December/22. Hoping that moves forward a bit.

Currently have an Aframe, our favourite phrase right now is “in our NEW 5.0 trailer” - followed by whatever great feature we are obsessing about at the time.

We had a pop-up A-frame trailer at leaked like a sieve from day one.

Hello and welcome to the forum fellow Canuck.

You're going to love that 5.0!! I come from an extensive tent camping background so cannot comment on other trailers but we really like ours a ton! Sooo comfortable with an upstairs and a downstairs just like home, also an unlimited power supply with our solar setup (if we're reasonable).

Yes, we were sold on the 5.0 as soon as we saw the “separate” bedroom. We were lucky to be able to tour Jim Bennett’s trailer, he gave us so many ideas around storage and the benefits of some of the options (power awning for us, my choice).

Not sure if I am missing something here or not, but why would you sign off on your build sheet a year prior to completion date?

Really? Jim really likes his power awning and he can be pretty persuasive.

Congratulations and enjoy it when the long wait is over.

Ah, we are quite decided on the options we want, plus lots of other things happening this year, major reno at home. So just decided to get it done, one less thing on my plate.
*plus it kind of makes it seem closer to reality, even if completion date move-ups are quite limited for the 5.0 🤠

But I would prefer to wait for any possible new announcements such as the lithium battery announcement and maybe others

I do lay out the benefits to both styles of awning. Both work great for making memories.

And of course you do have a great system for shedding water off your awning. We're still partial to the manual awning especially since we have the screen room

Us too, much more versatile. Manual awnings rule.

How do those attach to the manual awning and legs?

There is a bolt rope sewn into the top edge. That's a small diameter rope with the screen wrapped around it. It slides into the groove on the awning rail that's meant for such a thing. You can also buy clips that slide in the groove. That's the easiest way.

A sideways tie at the bottom holds it and prevents it blowing the wind.
