Hello from Florida.
Another newbie here and also new to camping, except for 30 years of boat camping. Now the long wait for the delivery of my Escape 19 in July. Great group and tons of useful information.

Several Escape owners in Florida, many within an hour’s drive from St. Pete.

I was surprised to see how many Escape owners there are on the west coast of Florida, and more on the way.

Hey Flash, I miss the FL West coast! I grew up in Naples and recently have been to St Pete area a lot to visit friends, and also my wife and I camp hosted at Fort Desoto. Now I'm in California, sick of the crowds and cost and fires, thinking I'd rather be where you are...

Fort DeSoto is on my list to “practice” before picking up my 19 next summer.

Welcome Jim - We've pretty new here also, waiting on our 5.0 to be completed in March. I was born in St Pete, (a long long time ago) and still have family there. I love the area and I'm amazed at how beautifully the city has developed and grown. Maybe meet down the road some day, Matt & Pat

I visited the Florida Keys some 50 years ago and would dearly love to tow my 19 down there for a week of look-see. Great area. But, with hurricanes and so many stories about no vacancies at campgrounds, etc., the idea scares me silly.

Hi Myron! April and May is a great time to go. Most of the snowbirds are already gone and it’s before hurricane season. It is also my favorite time of year to sail to Key West. Can’t wait to go again, especially since my trip got canceled this year because the Keys were closed until June 1.

We also camp hosted at Long Key State Park, which is highly recommended, campsites are right on the water!
