Hello from New Hampshire
Hello,
We ordered an escape 17A trailer and is schedualed to be delivered in July, 2015. In the summer months we will be camping with our 10 year old son and two labs, in the fall I will be traveling to northern NH, ME, and Pennsylvania to hunt Whitetail deer.

Welcome Slick from New Hampshire, we can use all the New Englanders we can get. I believe you are the first from NH. I think you just about doubled the chances of me seeing an Escape.

Thanks Bob,
we had one of those chalet collapsible A frame campers which was fine for me hunting but wasn't big enough for three people and two dogs. We are excited.

Congratulations! What a great hunting camp an Escape will make. GREAT times ahead.

Welcome!
Just curious - what will you be towing with? My guess: 4X4 pickup truck.

Just glance back now and again to make sure the trailer is still there.

Another New Englander. Welcome. With an F250 you don't need to tow the Escape, just load it in the back.

Welcome
Welcome Slick,
We never had a trailer before we purchased our Escape and we have never been disappointed. 1 year into our tailoring experience and we are still sold on our decision as I know you will be. Take care and enjoy the Escape Trailer and the community that comes with it.

Slick, welcome to the Escape Forum and congratulations on a good choice in a travel trailer. Sounds like a good one for hunting. Did you look at any other brands before choosing an Escape? Loren

Welcome Emile,
To our little Escape world. We had the first annual Eastern Escape rally here in Pennsylvania this past September and Alf always hosts one in Niagara Falls, Cn in the fall time also. Rally's are a great chance to see various Escape models. I'm curious over the 17a vs 17b choice. You mentioned more room with the dogs, it appears the 17b may have some more floor space. You can always change your selection with Escape if need be and don't be afraid to ask questions. That is why we are here.

Loren,
Thanks,
Yes we looked at many, and between my parents, neighbors and my self have owned many different models of trailers. The one thing they all had in common were leaks located at least in one bottom corner where the two walls and floor meet.
So after all that we knew the next trailer would be a two piece fiberglass trailer, i looked at casita, scamp and escape. i ended up going back and forth between the casita and escape, in the end the escape was last on the list because of a few small details. Great reviews, no rivet holes drilled to the outside and resale value.

Jim,
Thanks,
Basically there are two main reasons for not getting the "B" model, the first is the smell, that faint smell you get every once in a while of that outhouse odor. The second is a little less for me to deal with. We did order the portable toilet in the event there's an "emergency" in the middle of the night.

We initially ordered the trailer with just a few options: the duel propane tanks, two way hot water tank, hot water tank with outside shower, built in microwave and the starter kit.
Well we are considering the following additional options: the storage box, insulation and thermal windows, aluminum rims, 3 burner stove with cover, 2 shelves inside the wardrobe closet, one extra 110v outlet just below the counter if they can, and e-z lube axles if available.
Was also considering the foam on the underside of the trailer but it must be a nightmare trying to work on anything afterwards. Was curious if two inch hard insulation board could be glued to the underside of the plywood before assembled?
Also, has anyone ever ordered there trailer without the front and rear window?

The E-Z Lube feature doesn't appear to be in the options list, which is surprising since I've read several references to ordering it, and even one post quoting Reace:

Eze lube axles are an upgrade at $50.00 per axle. I don’t stock these, so if you want to order them, I would need to know now to have them in time for your chassis.
...
Reace

It also doesn't appear in the standard features list, although some members have referred to this feature as "stock".
E-Z Lube seems of little if any value to me, since I don't use a travel trailer as a boat (E-Z Lube is for flushing contaminated grease from bearings that have been submerged in water), but it's cheap and it's harmless if it is not used.

Since the body wraps right under the floor, that would boost the floor level up two inches and change the fit of all of the interior parts. I think it would be a nice feature, but one that would need to be designed in.

I have to ask why one would do that?
As for EZ lube hubs, you still have to have them inspected, cleaned and re-lubed every couple years. I have standard hubs and have had the bearings inspected twice in six years. I have the original bearings and my mechanic sees no wear. I'd save the money toward having the first maintenance.

Back in November, this thread
http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f9...akes-4784.html
mentions in post 1 EZ's are now standard.

But, also, that thread has one post that says EZs are now standard. Do we know that is true? Anybody?
My trailer came "Bike rack ready", but I didn't order it that way. And, it's still not standard. I just didn't have to pay for it because I didn't order it.
