Hi we are Steven and Marlaine from Oregon. We have joined the search🤣. As long time tent campers, this is all new to us. Already the form has provided so much information. We are hunting for a used Escape. As a retired Flight Attendant, I’m happy to see this country from the ground level and we have 20 grandkids to visit. Please let us know when you’re ready to sell your baby, we will give it love and affection. 😁
For that day when you see what you want. I posted this info in another thread. I have seen transactions happen several times.
Here are some thoughts I have shared with others.
1. Get your money ready at a moment's notice.
2. Make sure the asking price is reasonable and the seller viable. Remember these things are going to go close to full retail value and very quick.
3. Don't haggle on price. Snap it up, when the chance arises.
4. Try to get another way to contact the seller, preferably a phone number. Communications often present additional problems when trying to close the deal.
5. Close the deal on the phone, send the money like it is burning a hole in your pocket (using standard safe methods for sending money). ONLY after making sure this is legitimate. You never know!
Moral of the story is; they don't last long. And you will be competing for the sale. Do not allow barriers to show up unless they are a show stopper. Else wise, you lose.
Someone here mentioned the fastest sale was 58 minutes.?.
Hi from Hillsboro, Oregon! Used Escapes are extremely hard to connect with if you're searching for a particular model. I spent 14 months trying to find a 17 ft Casita and kept missing the sale until I got an email about one in Denver. Next day I was on an airplane, inspected it, and bought if by electronic transfer. Had it brought to Portland on a flatbed trailer in a January blizzard across the Rockies. So it can be done, but you gotta work at it!
Welcome to the forum, Marlaine! I believe you and I met the other day. I hope your search is fruitful. In the meantime, there is a lot of good info to be found here on these pages.
