Hi Everyone! My husband and I had both tent and pop-up camped a lot as children and young adults, but never together until we dipped our toes in by purchasing a 2006 Casita Spirit Deluxe in 2017. We have heavily modified our Casita over the years - most recently a nearly complete overhaul of the electrical system and adding 400W of solar & 400 AH of Lithium. We most enjoy dispersed camping, so many of our modifications have been focused on making that work for us. Attached is a pic of our current set-up.
We've thoroughly enjoyed our Casita and have taken it to all three coasts and camped in 31 states, but it's time for something a little larger (no more climb-over bed!), but still a smaller camper, with a little more storage, and more capable of handling the cold and hot weather than the Casita.
We were just up in Vancouver so ran over to Escape in Chilliwack (we're told the locals say "The Wack") and got the chance to look over a new 5.0 to our heart's content. We asked Samuel a million questions and he was very helpful.
We will need to purchase a truck as well as the 5.0, so we're really taking our time on the decision and are hoping to learn what everyone here loves about - and is less happy with - their Escapes, to ensure we're making the most informed choice we can make.
