Welcome Shawna and good luck in your search, now is a better time of year to be looking than in the spring.
It is a fairly simple process to import an Escape to the States, here is a recent thread describing it http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f7...-us-13421.html

We pick up our 21 in late September. We just got our VIN and ETI's perfect paperwork allowed us to get registration and title in Kittitas county, Washington in about 1/2 hour. ( It took a bit longer because I had to retrieve our checkbook.) We now have a real plate ready to go. The clerk made one phone call to Olympia and we were done!

Very easy to register.
If you're wanting to view any of the Escapes before you actually purchase one, you can come on by and see our 21 that resides in Seatac - not too far from ya. We're just off 5 by Southcenter.
