Hello from Wisconsin
Hello - new member from Wisconsin.
We are still in the learning/comparing/shopping stage of our search for an Escape. We are leaning heavily toward a 5.0 or a 21 right now but that could change. We are planning a day trip to the 2016 Mississippi River Rendezvous this fall to hopefully get a close up look at some Escapes without crossing the country.
I'm a chronic lurker of most forums I frequent but the wealth of knowledge and sense of community here convinced me to join.
Mike

Very smart to go and check out the different models! Have fun hopping from one trailer to the next! Might want to bring a notebook, every trailer is different with all the options and costumizations available. You are going to love it!!!

Welcome, Mike and Gypsy.
Mike, you should be able to find whatever you need at the Rendezvous. Plenty of Escape owners will be there showing their trailers. Tammy and Reace are even expected to make an appearance!
Gypsy, you might go to a rally in your region. That is the easiest way to get a good idea of what you need. Also, you can contact Escape Trailer to get the name of someone near you who will show you their trailer. Happy retirement.

Re: Escape factory reps at Rally
As much as they wanted to attend, Tammy told me they had too much iron in the fire to make the Mississippi Rally this year. That was at the customer appreciation rally in Osoyoos in May. They are great people and will make it in the future she told me. In the mean time! Lots of rigs and lots of experienced campers. Forget a notebook, use your camera and save your wrist for the North American Torque yer Nutz championships.

Bummer. I was really hoping they'd show up with a new 19'. Our build sheet is due a week after the rally. We're pretty much decided on options, but it would have been cool to see one in person.
That being said, with all that they've got going on I certainly can't blame them.

It's a disappointment but I am not surprised. Especially with this import problem now. Maybe they can't get across the border!!

I think Reace and Tammy are more disappointed than we are. They were both really looking forward to it and it (should) have been a trip to celebrate the completion of all the building construction and being (at least mostly) done with all the new trailer mods. The whole building process has been a long drawn out pain in the posterior for them and is many months behind schedule.
We will miss them, but as we Cubs fans love to say - Wait til next year!

Cathy, funny that you should say that. This is a direct quote from Tammy in one of our many emails about the issue.
"Lets just say I am not welcome in the US for a little while. "
She was joking of course, but it was related to her ongoing "harassment" of the wonderful government folks she has been dealing with.

I have been so impressed by this Forum and our visit to ETI (met Tammy but didn't get a chance to meet Reace) that I feel like part of a family. It may be a while now before we can get our Escape - we are in the process of buying a very nice place on the Chippewa River - in Wisconsin.
