We haven't gone out a lot in the last year. Have stuck close to home during the pandemic so a few paddles on the Tualatin. We tend to take them to Central Oregon and the Cascade Lakes (Little Lava, Hosmer, Sparks!), some on the Willamette. Waldo Lake used to be a regular every summer - but whoa! Those winds in the afternoon on the return paddle. A good workout. But we haven't returned there is a few years because I am the only one who doesn't get totally eaten by the mosquitos. Now that I am retired and no longer teaching we can likely go after labor day and avoid most of the skeeters. Have not tried coastal estuaries. Don't make it to the coast very often.
Although you always want to be careful, and that is a scary sign, this is the one you want to watch out for. The actual message may change along with the colors, but notice the notice at the bottom. If you see this one, leave the area immediately or be very, very careful.
