Hi Everyone
Figgard I go ahead and say Hi as I've decided on a 5.0TA.
Retired 6th Grade teacher, air traffic controller, acoustic guitar player, ham radio operator (k4fcp, k4bms), I've solar powered all of my rigs since 2000, glad to help anyone do the same (easy, fairly cheap, and low fat), currently looking for 5.0TA and would very much like to see one in person. Currently own a 2012 RPOD 177 with a 2013 F 150 4X4 5.0L. Have camped all over Canada, the US, love wild places and even drove the Trans Labrador Highway to Newfoundland in 2004.
Anyway, Hi and thanks for the advice I have received and this forum seems like a great group.

Have you contacted Escape and asked for the names and address of owners near you? That would be best because not all owners are here on the forum.

Call Escape and they'll put you in touch with a 5.0TA owner near you. No substitute for seeing one in person.

Thanks....actually ATC tower helped me teach 6th graders....hormones are amazing and truly reminded me of the many different aircraft types I had in the pattern. Due to the tragedy at Virginia Tech I was in lockdown for 5 hrs with 30 6th graders................still recovering from that.

Funny.....I'll be driving by you in June. I moved up here 35 yrs ago from Miami.....still love it as I'm only 40 min. from the Blue Ridge Parkway and some great, cheap camping.

Thanks for the tip...Casita had the same deal. Gonna call on Monday. I just looked at the Scamp 19 5th wheel and I don't think there is even a comparison. BMW motorcycles had a book where people who approved would let you camp at their house. Not sure if I'm that comfortable with that. But I do like the idea of a list of people to call if you are in trouble.

Love San Antonio and had some great friends from Austin as well...unfortunately the lead guitarist was killed in a helicopter crash in 1990.
I still stay in touch as one of the band was my roommate for 2 years. Plan on heading out that way and exploring the Southwest. Can't find anyone who wants to go to Big Bend NP with me. They look it up and then give me the, "What is wrong with you" look.

I am a soon to be retiring National Park Service employee and musician (mandolin/violin) and we are almost decided on the the 5.0TA (or the 21). Perhaps we will get together and jam at some point. !!

Good deal! I haven't been able to play for a couple of months because I pulled some ligaments doing something stupid. I turn 65 tomorrow and haven't gotten the memo on why I can't do stuff I did when I was 19. We loved the Badlands NP and that whole area last June. My wife said she would buy me another guitar for my b'day............but........apparently we are not anywhere near on the same page. She just laughed when she went online and saw the price.................and so it goes.

Cool I turn 64 in May. Make sure you get your senior pass for the National Parks, its 10.00 for lifetime membership and you pay no entrance fees. I just did a job in the Badlands last year (I design IT systems). Im looking forward to ordering in April.
