Made it.

Greetings. Chris and I made a mad dash to Silverdale and purchased Rick's 19. We took it home via the CA coast and camped in it for 5 nights along the way with limited accessories-dishes-etc. "borrowed" from our 17' Casita.

The trailer is very comfortable, and we really enjoyed it. Now we have many questions which I hope to find some of the answers to here on the forums.

Some of you may have met us at Bandon. We look forward to meeting everyone else here soon!

Welcome to Escape RV, Dan, now that you have come over to the other side of town,
we all know you from FGRV so ask away. I'm only 120 days away from my new Escape Blackjack but my memory is still good for the 19'.

Cool - now there are three 19s in the greater Sac area. I'm in the foothills up from you. I know you'll love your 19, we really enjoy ours.

Congratulations Dan & Chris.
I made a similar trip 3 years ago to snag a nearly new owner sale Escape - Marysville, WA to Reno, NV.
You need to act fast and be ready to travel when the good deals come along.
Are you going to try and make the Escape Rally in B.C. next June?

We enjoy the rallies so if it is possible, we will try to attend.

And there will be a 21 in Auburn in January - or February - or whenever the winter allows.

So I have finally gotten to get my hands dirty on the new trailer.

1. The poopoo tube storage tube was too short to hold the two tubes we carry so I removed it and installed a longer one that accomodates the brand we use.

It looked like maybe the original tube was longer and a shorter one had been installed, because there was already a hole through the right bumper support to bolt the 4" tube to it.

2. Today I installed a 12 volt socket near the TV arm, because our TV runs on 12 volts. So now there is a nice 12 volt socket next to the signal jacks. This required dropping the radio and piggy backing off the power circuit that feeds the radio.

The radio is a Jensen car stereo suspended under the storage cabinets in the left rear corner over the bed. I do not know if this is the standard configuration for an optional radio on a 2010 19 or not.

Thanks everyone. Let's go camping!

I think the radio option changes over the years, what they are using now is not what they used last year. As long as you are happy, that is all that matters.

Dan,
You seem to be following in my footsteps, I remember talking with you about the Lance I had and then the Escape 19, glad you made the jump.

We could have bought a brand new Lance for the cost of the used Escape. But we wanted to stay in the molded fibreglass community for a number of reasons.

I think the one disappointment we have in this Escape are the small tanks. I didn't realize they were so small on the earlier builds. There are some other things I would do differently if I were buying new, but they are not big deals.

I might have waited and tried to get a newer one but they do not come up on the used market often and this one has a lot of really nice features so one must act when opportunity presents itself.

Dan, it looks like your Escape 19 is only 2 1/2 years old. The tanks you have have been used on all of the 19s as far as I know. What changes would you have liked to see?

In 2012 the black went from 14 to 19 gallons and the grey went from 20 to 26 gallons.
