That's funny about pestering Crystal....I was just saying to my husband, gawd, how many days in a row can I make changes, she's probably fed up with me....glad to know we're not alone! Soooo, I think I'll wait a bit before letting her know our latest changes, as we have until April 1 to finalize and I'm sure there will be more!

Crystal was great, as were Tammy and Barb. They are so well organized--would have to be to put up with all of us! So patient and helpful, I never felt rushed by any of these incredible women. We never had the pleasure of talking with Reace, as all of our questions were answered through Crystal and Tammy.

We did finalize and sign our build sheet the first part of Feb. and I've been meaning to post it on the forum. Guess I'm in a little bit of "post-build sheet" spaciness. It was a fun, but slightly stressful experience. Nothing negative, just the nature of researching and making the best possible choices. The advice of ETI was so valuable--but the information given in this forum was priceless! Thank you all so much for the lists and tips you supplied on this site. Along with friends who already had Escapes, the info we got from everyone helped us design the trailer that we'll enjoy for many years to come. I will get our build list out soon~

We are scheduled to get "On the Lam" May 12, and will be at Osoyoos for the rally. Looking forward to meeting many of the folks who have been so terrific! We can talk trailers, camping, food, wine, pets and even Appalachia! Peace--Gae

Ok Rbryan4 you said ask and we shall receive so here goes.
1) If we prewire for stereo can we hook up a satellite radio, what about speakers, are they preinstalled?
2)Maxxfan upgrade with smoke lens, what are the advantages?

I can answer the smoke lens question, more light. The stock opaque cover lets in no sun nor moon, just white light reflecting off the cover. The smoke lens is semi-transparent and you can see the sky and everything else.

Prewire for stereo doesn't include the stereo or the speakers -- just the wiring pre-run in the cabinets to install one later. If you get a stereo head unit that has a satellite radio receiver, you will also need a satellite radio antenna, preferably roof mounted or out a window on a clip. If you wanted ETI to do all of that, I suppose you could supply them with the stereo, and the satellite radio antenna, and ask them to install it during the build for a nominal charge. Trailer stereos are basically just a car stereo, since both run on a 12V power source. But since you generally have more mounting options in a trailer than in a car, they can be larger (more DIN).

Because there were so many details to consider and we wanted a larger opening in the rear cabinet (where the speakers go), we decided to have ETI do a pre-wire for the stereo to give us future options. There is so much to learn with sound systems, etc., and we thought we'd follow the advice of a friend and do a Bluetooth setup and speaker until we could research this. But until then, we'll take our portable and hope for the best!

We've been using the waterproof UE Boom for a couple of years now. It sounds great, has a long run time, and can be placed just about anywhere.

Ditto on the UE Boom. We have one, too, and take it when we go trailering.
