Move In Day!

It's been a long time coming...we are now Escape owners! On Tuesday the previous owner delivered our 2022 Escape 5.0TA. I took a couple of days to look through the trailer thoroughly and pack the exterior storage compartments. Today, my wife and I teamed up to pack everything from our 2021 Coachmen Freedom Express 192 RBS into the Escape.

The Coachmen is a wonderful couples coach and had storage for everything we wanted to camp with. And even though it's a longer and wider coach, we found a convenient home for everything in the Escape. When folks say it has a lot of storage, it's true. Weight wise, we carried about 1000lbs of stuff, including food and clothes. Now I just have to be patient...our first trip is three weeks away.

You've been a member here for a long time. Congratulations on getting an Escape.

I remember our moving in day: we arrived at ETI with a truckload of stuff. Fun times. Enjoy.

Our move in day was at the KOA in Lynden, WA. Just a few minutes from our pick up at Bob's Burgers.

Our friend flew in for the 10 day ride back home. He is a connoisseur of fine Bavarian beverages and shared the Milwaukee's Best Light he secretly purchased at the local grocery store before we set up and started moving in.

Congratulations!

We have been around a while. I joined the forums in 2015 after discovering Escape. The idea of a 5th wheel designed for half-tons seemed perfect for us. And we visited the factory in 2017 while visiting family in the Seattle area. So when this trailer became available and was located less than 300 miles away, I went for it.

That was fast! We visited the factory in 2012, and had followed ETI since the start, but did not purchase until 2021. Just needed the right timing for us. Welcome. Arkansas has some nice places. We will be in the NE and NW parts of the state in November.

The northern part of the state is beautiful. And early November is a great time of year. Don't forget about the SW part of the state where we are. Hot Springs National Park is a cool stop.

We’ve wandered all over AR, but will stay at Heber Springs a few days so Barb can go to Marshall’s Dry Goods to stock up on quilting fabric, and then later after going north, come back through the Winding Stair area on my way to my folk’s just because we like it. It’s certainly not the most direct route, but it works for us. It will be late October for Heber Springs, earlyish November for Winding Stair, which includes eastern Oklahoma. Hot Springs is nice, but a little too crowded and touristy for us as a place to go very often.

We moved in at Oostema Farmstead. Highly recommend it for those picking up in Sumas or Chilliwack. Rustic but oh so quiet and peaceful.
