There are countless threads about fridge issues.

Search is your friend.

You hit the mother lode. There are extensive discussions on the sibling to the RML, the RMD. One door versus two doors: same lame mechanics.

As Ron suggests, have at it. Some folks like to use the Google Search option in the drop down option.

When you have done your research then ask your questions.

Not so proud owner of a RMD 8555.

I am in the process of replacing my RMD8555 with a Norcold N2175 thats nearly identical size and should fit right in. This is a DC only compressor fridge/freezer. it has a bottom freezer that pulls out like a drawer, and a fridge on top with its own normal door. In preparation for this, because we do a lot of week long dry camping, I'm upgrading my DC electrics, I've got a pair of 206AH 12V LiFePO4 batteries (from SOK Battery), I've installed a PD4655Li in place of the WFCO 8955 power converter, and I'm planning the beefing up of the main DC wiring, as well as a solar upgrade (360W LG panel on roof with a MPPT lithium compatible charge controller), plus a DC-DC charge controller to isolate/regulate the towing truck power.

Assuming that you have determined your refrigerator is beyond repair, I would.check out the Dometic RMD 10.5XT. This is their newer style improved refrigerator. Dyers RV has them for about $2400. Should be a perfect fit and be installed without any major modifications. There is more installation information elsewhere on this forum.
I would also contact RVcoolingunit.com see if they might carry replacement cooling units that can be swapped onto your existing refrigerator.
