New E19 Owners

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I pick up our new E19 day after tomorrow! We are very excited and this forum has been a great way to research questions that have come up in the ordering process.

We are moving from a Four Wheel Camper truck bed camper as our family is growing to include our second child. We do a lot of boondocking and winter camping so we got the Zap pack with 2 solar panels, 4 LiOn batteries, 3k inverter, and Houghton heat pump. Also selected acrylic windows, lift, and sprayfoam insulation, in addition to various other smaller things. Really looking forward to getting all the systems down and I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions and maybe, someday, even answering some.

Thanks everyone. We just got home from picking up the camper and our first four night outing. We spent 3 nights on San Juan island and then one at a vineyard harvest host on the way home. Attached are a few pictures. With the new acrylic windows there isn't a rock guard so it looks a bit different than they have in the past.

Congratulations from a fellow FWC owner. We're not quite ready to leave the freedom of an off-road camper but are strongly considering an Escape 19 as a cold weather option for AZ, etc. I'll be interested in your opinions of boondocking and forest Service roads...

Thanks for posting photos showing the acrylic windows.....they look great! Does the front window (that replaced the old rock-guard style) now vent as well?

Out of curiosity, what are the two control panels above the fridge? Those must be new options/features on 2024 models.....

We were hesitant to leave the FWC flexibility too. However, I must say that being able to detach and set up a base camp is really nice. Really cuts down on set up and break down time.

From what I've read Escapes do well on forest service roads. Particularly the 17' and 19' as they are not as wide as the larger models. My towing experience so far has been positive and I like that the trailer is not wider than my truck. Makes it easy to see around with my mirrors and pretty maneuverable.

Yep, the front window opens in the same way as the other windows which allows for nice cross ventilation.

The two panels above the fridge are for the electrical. The one on the left has a switch that allows you to toggle between shore power, Off (no AC current), and inverter. The one on the right is the Victron Cerbo GX readout which is very cool. It essentially shows a schematic of your power system (shore power, solar, battery, inverter, AC draw, DC draw) with real time readouts of how power is flowing. It came as part of the Zap Pack. I am very impressed with the Zap Pack as it provides all Victron components and seems to be very well thought out.

Very nice unit. Pretty much what I'd order if I could go brand new.
Word of caution: don't spray insect repellent around those acrylic windows. DEET dissolves acrylics. I learned this by ruining a motorcycle windscreen
