New eggbie from Placerville

Hi all...great forum! We get our 21' Escape in March. Never seen one! But researched the heck out of it. We are ex Casita 17' owners who loved the Casita but felt it was just too small. We are sooo excited about getting our new Escape! In between the two we had a stick built 25' but watched it slowly age even though it was fairly new... We live in Placerville and frequent Lake Tahoe just about every weekend so we do like to get away and look forward to camping in style again! I think I have the Escape spec'ed out right from our experience with the Casita! The Escape gang have been great. And we lucked out with the exchange rate so everything is going full steam! I've learned a lot from the forum! Thank you all...
Gary and Janice

Hi, Gary and Janice,
You chose very well for not having seen one. I have no doubt you will love your 21' and Lake Tahoe will certainly be a prefect place to take it. Hope you post photos.

Welcome Gary. You certainly 'lurked' here for a long time without saying hello! Congrats on your 21.

Hi Gary & Janice,

We also bought our 21 sight unseen. pretty scary. We picked it up last March and it was love at first sight. We still have our 17ft casita, she lives at an astronomy dark site now. We are very happy with the bed, the extra storage, everything! You will be happy! Enjoy!

Hi Gary and Janice - My wife Jeanie and I live just up the hill from you in Pollock Pines. We got our 19 in '09 and love it more that ever, though it's in hibernation right now. With Karen and Peter in North Lake, we may be able to form our own mini-club!

Exactly Bruce! And There's another 19' in Truckee, which is the one we looked at before we ordered. I remember being given a name in Pollock Pines with a 19' to look at, so that must have been you!....Karen

Welcome Covey! Nice to have another Escape in the neighborhood! (Well almost.) The hardest part is deciding all the options. You will be pleased with the quality and service.

Well, when I signed up I never received my return email (spam filter I think!) so I couldn't post or reply to anything and as time went by and things were getting close I finally contacted the sites web master to 'set me free' so here I am! And glad I am!

I do not think those sign-up problems have ever been fixed. I didn't get on for much longer than that because of being told my e-mail was spam or some such. Anyway, you finally made it!

In the olden days, no more than six years ago, I recall a Saturday morning when the spam was flowing.
I was deleting them as fast as I could and I couldn't keep up.

It was you who was deleting me!! I don't know how that anti-spam stuff works but I know my e-mail address was not spam and don't know why anyone or any computer would think so.

I was not deleting you, unless you were a Japanese bot posting nonsense. Did you make 110 posts to the site in an hour or so?
When Social Knowledge bought the site, they applied some spam software to prevent such events. I don't know how it works, nor can I do anything other than approve posts ( or ban a poster ) after reviewing the post.
Seems to be doing its job, because we moderators don't actually have a lot that we have to act on. On the other hand, we have to read 6.7 fridge threads.

I wasn't posting at all. Couldn't join. I figure it was the computer program somehow deciding that an e-mail is spam when it is not. About 5 years ago. Long before the present owner and seems the same kind of thing is still going on.

Welcome fellow California Escape owners!

We had our inaugural California Escape owners rally at Jalama beach in September last year. It was a great success and we had a wonderful time. It's coordinated by "Greggo" and we're still getting the fine details together for this year's event. Same place at about the same time this year. It's a somewhat secluded state park, right on the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful view, mild temps and great food.

Please contact Greg to get more info about getting signed up. Good times for all.
