New Escape on order
Hello Group,
I just placed a down payment for the Escape 5.0 TA. After months of research and forum lurking, this seems to be the best fit for me. Now I just need to get the fifth wheel hitch purchased and installed, and sell the pop up I've been using for the past several years.
I live in Horton Michigan which is an hour south of Lansing.

Welcome Scott,
There is a hitch place in Chilliwack called Trademasters that can set you up with a hitch at trailer completion, once the border opens.

I’ve been to Pokagon State Park in NE Indiana many times. Used to go up to Wynn Schuler’s restaurant and a one on Lake George where Al Capone used to eat when they had to get out of town to let things “cool off”. You’ll have a lot good times with your new Escape.

So far I have not camped outside of Michigan. That being said, I plan on expanding my travels as work will let me, and this pandemic of course.

Not sure about waiting until I pick it up, that would be a little stressful. I've been researching my options. I pretty sure I'll go with the Curtis Gooseball and the Anderson Ultimate fifth wheel to ball adapter. Now I'm researching price and have to decide if I'm going to install it, or have someone else do it.

Pokagon S.P. is a favorite. I was raised in South Bend. They have a climax maple-beech forest that skies far above the forest floor. Lake James is great, the hiking, I mean walking, is superb.
Trademasters is the absolute best for hitches and I highly recommend them. They worked with me to find a place to do my work since the border is closed. Use them!
I jut picked up my 5.0TA, you will love it and the bed is VERY comfy!

Those big beech on that glassphalt trail that takes off from the Lodge Parking lot are pretty impressive. We used to do a before breakfast bird hike on that trail when I was going to a park management conference there in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Had a lot of memorable times there. The refrigerated toboggan run was always a highlight too. My daughter lives in Ft. Wayne so we head up there for the day once in a while.

Hi! We placed our 5.0 order too and live in Grand Rapids. Are you picking it up or having it shipped? Ours is completed Sept 14.

We have the same completion date, although we are getting a 21NE. If the border is open we will be picking it up in Chilliwack. Otherwise, it will be Bob's Burgers!

It's Bob's Burgers either way. Escape has to import the trailer into the US. If the border is open to non-essential travel, you probably can cross for orientation ( if that's still happening ) and then follow your trailer to the border, and then meet up with it at Bob's.
You cannot put anything in the trailer until you take possession at Bob's. If you want to return to BC, you can do that, if the border is open, but best find out ahead of time if you have to quarantine for 14 days, if you do.

Congrats an the order. I'm pretty excited. So far I'm up in the air about picking it up, but leaning toward that. The completion date for mine is Aug 17. So, depending on how busy I am for work will determine the week off. At this time I'm planning a trip to pick it up the week of Aug 17 with both my daughters. Maquest gives us around 36 hours there. Then breaking it in on the way back. We really haven't even looked at the areas around, what route to take on the way back.
I have quite a bit to do before then. I ordered the gooseneck hitch, so after that comes in I have to install it. I already have the ANDERSON Ultimate hitch here.
Plus i'm up in the air about when to sell the pop-up.

I have not heard of Bob's Burgers, with exception to the cartoon, lol.
I just checked the web about Canada travel for non-essential travel. It is still no at this time and will be reviewed on a monthly basis. So my trim may just be to Bob's Burgers to take possession then camp on the way home.
