We had to pay for our Escape in US funds having to convert from Cdn. since we bought it in the US. For nearly half the cost of the trailer (over half covered by sale of our 2007 - which I sold in US$) I used an online currency exchange. I figured I saved about $250 even after the $15 wire fee my bank charged to put the funds in my US account. Our Canadian bank charges one of the highest premiums of all our banks.
Some Canadians may disagree but the reason our big banks make such great profits is the way they charge rather outrageous fees just to handle YOUR money, fortunately as seniors we get most things free.
