Hello all! My parents gave my wife and I their 2015 Escape 19. We took it out for the first time and had a nice trip. It rained a few days so it was really nice to be done with tent camping. We are getting ready to see what we can think of to customize it and make it our own.

Congratulations on your beautiful Escape.
It sure is nice to be warm and dry and off the ground on days like that.

I hope the trailer serves you well over the years and someday you will be able to pass it on to your children.

That’s a nice present!!! My folks won’t leave me much, but I have the fortune of spending lots of time with them. There is lots of helpful collective knowledge here including the gen 1 trailers.

There was a changeover period in 2016. First few months were curved door classic, then a choice for just a little while and by September or so, the straight sides, New design. That’s how I remember it. Don’t get in a big money bet though and cite me as knowing anything When Jim Norman came to the Mississippi River Rendezvous at the end of September, he had a brand new 19 that he was taking back to Pennsylvania. It was the new style.

Welcome aboard!

If you spend much time here on the forum, you'll have an ever-growing list of possible mods - some have gotten quite creative. Folks here are wonderful with answers & suggestions, so don't be shy.

Looking forward to seeing how you make your trailer your own.

I should have noted that this was his second 19 and the year was in fact 2016. That rally was held at this park due to high water in the big river that closed Thomson causeway CG. The 2016 rally was moved to Pine Grove camp ground in Scott County Park in Iowa.

If your goal is Iowa and you’re coming from the east and heading west, or you want a reasonably priced site before you cross the river into Illinois on Interstate 80 and don’t have any reservations, Scott County Park is a good choice. Several different loops to camp in, Buffalo Bill Birthplace, historic village, all high ground, no chance of flooding there. Nice restrooms and shower buildings. Not far to Interstate 80.

That's a sweet gift! You'll find a lot of inspiration for mods on the forum. You can see what I have done at the link in my signature. If you have any questions just ask.
