Welcome to the forum. Perhaps as you camp on the Island you can post pictures and comments about places you like.
Enjoy your "new to you" trailer

There seems to be a lot of "Islanders" with good taste in travel trailers.

Congrats on your purchase! A properly maintained fibreglass trailer like the Escapes should last for many years. We discovered the Escapes after experiencing two separate leaks over the relatively short life of our 2002 Nash trailer. (Repair cost after the first leak alone was $6800) The fully fibreglass Escapes are built to last!
We hope to do a brief explore of Vancouver Island some time this year with our Escape 21, maybe camping near Tofino. You have so much great camping at your doorstep, as well as the whole continent!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I certainly will post some pictures when we do our first trip. I have to get a brake controller and new trailer towing wiring done on my truck. Do any of you islanders have a shop you would recommend?

Just up the road from you in Comox.
Have fun with your new Trailer.
We used McPhee RV in Courtenay for things like wiring, and hitches.

Hi folks ! Just picking up our new Escape 19 next week. It would be nice to get to know some Islanders and maybe set up an island camping excursion ?? Ideas and interest ?
We are from Duncan on the island.

Sounds like a good plan! I had vague notions of a weekend at Jordan River for our first trip.

Hi... I was thinking maybe the same thing, heading out to Jordan River for a night or two and then towards port renfrew and up to Lake Cowichan.. I had also thought about French Beach, it's on the way to Jordan River and it's a beautiful camp ground in the forest. Not really interested in staying in Renfrew the camp sites are terrible

Hi
We are definitely interested however the only thing we are missing is a trailer, boo hoo! If all goes well we will pick up in the fall of 2017. Regardless we will keep a close eye on where you folks meet up and make an effort to drop by!
Congrats Bluegrouse!

I could not agree more, the one run by the First Nations people had potential but needed a lot of TLC and the marina campground was a total disaster. I'd rather stay at Walmart.
But it is the only place in town to get gas, but you may need to take out a bank loan to pay for it.
