New members from NE Tennessee

Hi All,
We are from between Kingsport and Johnson City, TN.
It did not take long to determine which was the best TT and forum. Ya'll are so helpful and knowledgeable.Spend all our time absorbing all the information posted. Thanks!
Ordered a 19 on 12 Dec 16 resulting in 16 Nov 17 build date (hoping for a mid August improved date).
Kevin, down Asheville NC way, was so very, very helpful showing us his 19, and answering all our questions. He is one spirited ESCAPE cheerleader!
Hope to see some of you at the Townsend TN gathering soon, and other Escapees, both in the US and Canada where our family hailed from.
Cheers!

Welcome George and Linda,
We know Jonesborough--been there many times.
Hope to see you at Townsend. Be sure to look at as many Escapes--and other brands, as you can. Everybody seems to have their own unique ideas and modifications.

For those coming to Townsend in April, be sure to ask the KOA for the special "egg-camper/eggscursion" price. It is a a significant discount.

From what I understand, this is now one of the less organized gatherings, (thanks to Tom for his previous work) but still a good time of year to kick off the camping season in a great location.
It's mainly the weekend of April 21, but we're coming early and staying late.

When I made my reservation last year, they had not figured out the eggcursion price yet, so just charged me for one night at the regular rate. So will I get the better rate in April when we pay the remainder, do you think?

It should be around $38 per night.

Also now its more of a "Gathering" and not a "Rally" with no planned events except maybe a potluck.

That is what I'm hoping for. I just checked, and they charged me $65.60 for the one night, am hoping they will adjust accordingly when it comes time to pay for the remaining nights.

Just got my call back from KOA Townsend. She said the egg price would be $37, which is $25 to $30 per night discount. Asked for an email. If that's any different, I'll let everyone know. Apparently a few extra nights will be at the good rate. There are two other gatherings that weekend--Bronco something and R-Pod something, so book soon.

Are there any detours due to the fires last year, map quest and google maps are showing road restrictions in effect? Anyone living near there help with updates? I'll call KOA also.

The fires are all cleaned as far as the roads go. There were no fires near Townsend or in that area of the park.
You know the drill with Pigeon Forge traffic. We just avoid it.

There will be about a dozen R Pods in their own separate group so space in limited. Somehow we hit the Bronco group every year but most of them stay in hotels.

April 20-23

Maybe we should move all this Townsend stuff to rally section.

Are you in a place on your avatar that has wild horses?
