New North Texas member & future owner

Hello all,

Well not a totally new member as I've been on here lurking and gathering info for some time now as you can tell by my join date. However we finally took the plunge this past week and decided to get on the waiting list for a 5.0TA. We've got a loooong wait as our earliest delivery time would be May 16, 2022 and May 2023 for the guaranteed date. Needless to say I'll have a lot of time to harvest plenty of tips and info from you all.

This will be our first RV. We've been tent camping a lot when younger and staying in screened shelters/cabins for years. I'm about 5yrs out on retirement and so we're ready to change our approach to traveling & camping.

We'll be towing with a 2014 F150, 5.0 V8, supercab.

Escape sent us a couple of contacts in the N. Texas area to look at a 5.0TA and we will probably be doing that soon. Yeah we decided on the Escape based completely on online videos/pictures/reviews/forum threads, etc.

They still seem to have a copy and paste problem. Trailer goes from 19' in the headline to 21' in the copy. If I were buying, I'd want to verify everything described.

Too many options for us so we'll have to stay in line. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah that one ain't cheap, the lithium battery and flush mount oven add over $3k...plus I'm not sure about the Contemporary wood myself. It looks great, but me and my dogs fear the dirtiness it would show. Anyways, welcome! I am just a few months ahead of you on my 5.0 deposit, but then just this week I scored a sweet used one...so keep watching, they do pop up but you have to jump on them quick!

Welcome Chris! We loved in Plano, TX for 16 years before selling and moving to White Rock Lake, after which, we started traveling full time in our fiberglass trailer. You will love your new rig. Best of luck!

That's a very nice rig you've got there, both truck and trailer.

My wife was interested in the white interior but I reminded her of the dogs and the fact I'd probably have hand prints on the cabinet doors in short order. So we opted for the maple.

You bet I would.

I'm not in a big hurry, we've got a long wait but maybe we can get together for a show and tell before the 100deg summer heat sets in.

Thank you for the offer!

I'll send you a PM.

That is good to know. We'll watch for scheduling that will allow us to line the two dates up if possible.

A big thanks to cphoenix11 for letting us come out and tour their wonderful 2019 5.0TA today. He gave us a variety of tips so I'm feeling a lot more knowledgeable and ready to make some changes to our final order.
