Trailer: 2011 Escape 17B

New Owners

We've been looking for a small trailer for about 18 months. Looked at T@b's, etc. Accidentally found the Escape brand one day on YouTube. Began researching and the more we learned, the more we liked. We found out that there were two 21 models both within about a 1 mile radius of our house, so we went to see one. Although the 21 was too big for our tastes, the fit and finish was as good as we hoped. So we really started watching this forum. A couple weeks ago we found a 17B in San Jose, so we made the 6 hour trip this weekend.

Yesterday afternoon we officially became owners of a 2011 17B. The owners, Ben and Debra were very accommodating and gave us a ton of time to look at the trailer and answered all of our questions (although I've come up with a few since then). So we bought the trailer, went back to our friends house in the hills above San Jose, and had a great dinner! We had the trailer parked in front of their house for about 2 hours when we came back to a note on the door of the house asking if we wanted to sell!

Today we made the journey home. Towing was no problem and now the trailer is in our driveway waiting for a little cleanup before going into storage. We already have ideas on modifications (real denim fabric for all the cushions, Levi weight, with a few Levi pockets harvested off older jeans and sewn on the sides for storage of small items), reading lights, etc.

Thanks for a great site that helped us get our journey started. This summer we will start "Runnin' Down a Dream."

Congratulations!!
That's what I did too, old jeans into little storage bags. Works and looks awesome.
Have fun decorating your trailer! And many happy trips!

You will not be disappointed in choosing a fiberglass camper and the Escape's are well made. Happy camping ahead!

We love our 17B and I love the idea of denim. We had a denim couch and it got softer and softer as it got used. Enjoy!
