Really? We drove 2300 miles to pick up and loved camping on the way back.

Get used to it John, Escapes and long drives go hand in hand. Nothing to put 4-5,000 miles a year camping. Several owners picked their unit up and took 6 months to get back home. Then there is the annual migration to Osoyoos , BC for the Escape Rally where over a hundred units will be lined up all in a row.
What is your tow vehicle?

My wife and I looked at the cost of delivery and decided to pay ourselves the delivery charge. 3000 miles going, 6700 miles and 49 days camping on the way back, memories - priceless!

Surely by now you could have shared a delivery trailer to California.
