would love to have a bigger bath with comfortable dinette....Did you consider the Escape 5.0?
I guess it was a natural progression for us to go to the Escape. We wanted more space, and the 17' Casita didn't seem to offer that much more over our 16. We were tired of having to keep so much in our car, like food, clothing, cooler, and cook gear! Also, we wanted a larger fridge (and got the 6.7 cu ft one). We were totally happy with the quality of the Casita, but it didn't quite do what we wanted. We already owned a Toyota Highlander which is working out great as a tow vehicle, so we didn't consider the 5.0. The Escape is working out great, with more storage than we've managed to use so far! And as you say, the build quality is excellent. There is more wood in it than in the Casita, and you can see where they've made every effort to control weight while preserving structural integrity. It's a really impressive package.
